Dublin's Liberties: Stories, Characters & Hidden History

Rebels, rogues and the tales that shaped Dublin's most storied neighbourhood

A walking tour through the heart of a neighbourhood that has always done things its own way

2 hours, €26

The Liberties has never done anything quietly.

From a village outside the city walls to an industrial heartland, from tenement streets to one of Dublin's most beloved neighbourhoods today, the Liberties has always been its own world.

Led by a local resident, this tour brings it to life through the extraordinary characters who shaped it. Street poets and gang bosses, bodysnatchers and folk heroes, rebels and rogues - the kind of people most history books overlook but neighbourhoods never forget.

Through centuries of storytelling and some of Dublin's most striking hidden locations, we'll cover faction fights and prison tales, dramatic executions, the rise and fall of local legends, and the community spirit that has defined the Liberties through it all.

This isn't a mythology tour or another generic Dublin walk. It's the real story of a real place, told by someone who lives in it.
